Non-Profit Executive Director – Churches Embracing Offenders Churches Embracing Offenders is a Christian based 501(C)(3) Indiana corporation that operates exclusively as a charitable, educational, and spiritual organization. CEO provides non-violent offenders a pathway to realize the fullness of their citizenship through the combined efforts of the area’ s judicial, social, and religious agencies. Position Summary: The Executive Director will serve as Chief Administrative Officer of Churches Embracing Offenders and is charged with implementation of policies and programs of CEO. Responsibilities: Ensures that the CEO Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and the officers are kept fully informed of the conditions and operations of the program and all factors influencing them. Attends all meetings of the Board and Executive Committee and serves as Chairman of the CEO BOD, which is a non-voting position.
Plans, formulates, and recommends for the approval of the Board of Directors, basic policies and programs that will further the objective of the CEO program.
Executes all decisions of the CEO Board and the Executive Committee except when other assignments are specifically made by them.
Develops, for the purpose of day-to-day administration, specific policies, procedures, and programs to implement the general policies established by the CEO Board of Directors.
Executes such contracts, grants, and commitments as may be authorized by the CEO Board or established policies.
Plans, organizes, and directs programs and services; evaluates results and recommends policies, procedures and action to achieve program goals.
Operation of the Administrative Office:
Establishes a sound organizational structure for the CEO Programs central office and administrative operations.
Directs and coordinates approved programs, projects, and major activities of the staff, mentors, committee members, and clients.
Obtains maximum utilization of the staff by clearly defining duties, establishing standards, and recommending a competitive salary structure for all CEO employees.
Management of fiscal resources and development of grants and contracts:
Develops, recommends, and, upon approval of the CEO Board of Directors, operates within an annual budget. Ensures that all funds, physical assets, and other property of the CEO program are appropriately safeguarded and administered. Arranges for an annual CPA audit.
Seeks outside funding in the form of grants and/or donations from public and private sources.
Responsibility for public relations activities and effective relationships with related organizations:
Maintains effective relationships within other organizations, both public and private, and sees that the position of the CEO program is enhanced in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Plans, coordinates, and conducts ongoing public relations program to enhance the public acceptance of the CEO Program.

Qualifications: Ability to administer private, nonprofit service organizations – from a faith-based perspective, including the legal responsibilities and constraints of such organizations
Demonstrated ability to obtain and manage external grants and contracts and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with federal, state, regional, and local agencies, community leaders, and the general public
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of restorative justice and its impact on the criminal justice system
Substantial experience in working with interdenominational initiatives
