Controller / CFO Reporting to the President, the Controller / CFO is responsible for the accounting operations of the company. This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The Controller / CFO is a key part of the senior leadership team and must provide additional guidance, training, and leadership to fellow staff members in other roles. The Controller / CFO typically performs the duties listed below but is not necessarily limited to them. Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities: Support and participate in the development of the company’ s strategic plans Monitor the financial performance of the company and report to upper management while providing unique solutions, strategies, and ideas Compile and analyze financial and other reporting packages Prepare monthly and annual operating budgets Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’ s procedures Communicate financial metrics to upper management including fellow staff Provide guidance, proactive solutions and ideas, and cross functional problem solving across all areas of the business Provide leadership, management, and support to the entire accounting department Research technical accounting issues for compliance Support month-end and year-end close process Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Skills/Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of proven Financial Controller experience in a manufacturing environment; 5 years of supervisory responsibility Strong organizational, leadership, and management skills across multiple disciplines and areas with a high energy and positive attitude Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product Ability to establish deadlines for themselves and the team Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Intermediate to advanced applications software expertise (Excel and accounting software) Experience in forecasting and budgeting Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player Experience with creating financial statements with thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process Cost accounting experience a plus Education/Certifications: Bachelor’ s Degree in accounting (preferred), finance, economics, or business administration required Master’ s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) is highly preferred CPA is preferred although optional Global Shop ERP experience a plus Benefits: Competitive salary and bonus (commensurate with experience) Comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision 401(k) with company match Flexible Spending Accounts PTO, Vacation and Holiday Pay Job Keywords: biotechnology jobs, agriculture careers, biotechnology careers, ag careers, ag jobs, agricultural jobs, ag, agriculture, farm, farming, ag1source, jobs, career, position, recruiting, recruiter *Candidates must be eligible to work in the US as well as meet the qualifications listed above in order to be considered for the Controller / CFO job.
