Due to our continued growth, we are looking to add an Experienced Retina Photographer to run the camera and tech and work up patients prior to seeing the physician. The Retina Photographer/Technician will be responsible for : Performs Fluorescein angiography using Zeiss and Heidelberg equipment. Conducts OCT imaging, Auto Fluorescence and infra-red imaging. Uploads images to Electronic Medical Record for review. Participates in research studies. Obtains and maintains certification for each study. Performs ophthalmic imaging studies in accordance with the study protocols. Transfers images to various reading centers in accordance with the study protocols. Maintains and oversees repairs of ophthalmic photography equipment. Tech and set up intravitreal injections and laser procedures as needed. Assists in checking patients in and out as needed. Travels to three offices, setting up and dismantling equipment. Also, ensures all offices are stocked with necessary supplies. Participates as needed in special department projects. Performs visual acuity measurement. Performs Tonometry (measure eye pressure). Measures pupil size and reactivity. Test and measure eye muscle function. Performs visual field testing. Prepares patients for B-scan ultrasonography and gets equipment set up for the physician. Prepares and assists with intravitreal injections. Orders intravitreal drugs and maintains necessary supply. Phone triage/calling in/Escribe prescriptions. Apex Eye is looking for its Retina Photographer/Technician to be empathetic, well- organized and detail-oriented, in addition to: High school diploma or equivalent. College degree is a plus. At least 1 year of prior Retina Photographer experience required. Experience in a fast-paced office environment is required. Ability to lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Ability to maintain confidentiality and to assist with medical treatment as needed. Strong computer and math skills, including familiarity with electronic records and ICD-10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, fellow co-workers and the public.
