Job Summary Th i s company i s currently looking for a self-motivated RF Microwave Engineer who will share our passion for conquering cancer and help us develop our ground breaking MRI guided Radiation Therapy system. The ideal candidate is an inventive problem solver and leader that is capable of working through technical challenges and employing pragmatic solutions. You will work closely with electrical, mechanical and software engineers to help develop the company ’s microwave and high voltage power train from concepts to released products to sustaining engineering. This position will report to Senior Director, Linac and MRI Engineering. Responsibilities Play a supporting role in design, prototyping, test and troubleshooting in one or more of the following system components: high voltage pulse modulator, pulse transformer, high power circulator, magnetron, waveguides, linear accelerator, dose chamber, dose amplifier. This may include managing the outsourcing of the design or manufacture of the component. Develop manufacturing assembly and test processes for high voltage and/or microwave components. Assist with sub-system level documentation including: design inputs, outputs, validation and verification. Remotely support escalated microwave or high voltage issues from hospitals throughout the world. Education, Experience, Skills Minimum BS, MS preferred in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or similar. Preferred experience working hands-on with high voltage and/or high power microwave components such as high voltage pulse modulator, pulse transformer, high power circulators, magnetrons, waveguides, linear accelerators, ( linac ), dose chambers, dose amplifiers, or related devices such as klystrons, gyratrons , travelling wave tubes (TWT’s), electron guns, thyratrons . Experience in as many of the following areas of technology as possible: high voltage, high vacuum, microwave, radio frequency ( r.f. ), accelerator physics, electrostatics, 3D electromagnetic modelling and design such as HFSS or CST. Experience in production of low volume high-value large complex systems such as medical or semi-conductor systems is preferred but not essential. Experience preferred using RF measurement equipment such as network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, power meter and dosimetry equipment such as electrometer, ion chamber, water tank Able to quickly grasp user level or system requirements and translate into subsystem requirements and designs. Ability to plan, track and manage work to schedule. Personal Interactions Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing.
