Facility & Equipment Maintenance Technician
TPI Staffing is hiring a Facility & Equipment Maintenance Technician in NW Houston for a Temp-to-Hire role paying $21.00/hr., Working First Shift. The qualified candidate must be highly skilled in Crane and Hoist Inspections, highly detail-oriented with solid organizational and time-management skills, possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills, true passion and understanding of the industry, as well as strong customer service and active listening abilities.
MUST have a valid Driver s License & High School Diploma or GED
Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
Performs a variety of preventative and routine maintenance and repairs, including electrical, mechanical and plumbing.
Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
Operate all styles of powered industrial trucks including but not limited to stand-up, sit-down, electric, propane and diesel.
Routine maintenance and repair of both the interior and exterior.
Responsible for responding to assigned facilities requests and completing work based on priority.
Communicating requests status with manager.
Responsible for completing assigned maintenance tasks and other actions to ensure the proper function and appearance with awareness of high use areas and employee traffic areas (main lobby, restrooms, main and production floor.)
Provide support for the completion of specific special projects.
Maintain preventive maintenance program for applicable equipment and machinery.
Maintain Cleaning schedule.
Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments as required.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and to plan, organize, and complete projects in a timely manner.
May perform other duties as assigned
High School Diploma or GED, required.
Valid driver s license, good driving record, and ability to operate vehicles safely.
Related degree from a technical college, preferred.
1-2 years previous experience in facility and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair including basic electrical and carpentry repairs, simple plumbing and painting.
Computer experience (Microsoft Word and Excel) and the ability to maintain and utilize a computer-based tracking system for requests, repairs, and follow-up requirements.
Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches and power tools.
Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
Strong time management skills.
Have or can get a propane and electric lift truck license. (job requirement)
Have or can be respirator approved (including medical, written and fit test) (job requirement)
Good communication/people skills (job requirement)
Shall be required to pass DOT, RCRA, HAZWOPER 16hr certifications (job requirement)
Frequent walking and climbing (stairs, ladders, terrain)
Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions.
Able to work from floor level to 20 ft. with no restrictions.
Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment, bending, standing, twisting, climbing or walking continuously throughput shift.
Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely.
