Job Title: Freelance Manager, Trim\
Location: New York, NY
Provides best in class Trim for the region including R&D support and special projects. Secures capacity, and assures trim is compliant with the brand's standards with respect to approvals, policies and regulations.
Responsible for the planning, execution and communication of a development strategy that meets and exceeds financial goals.
Keep abreast of industry changes, market intelligence, fashion trends, new resources and opportunities.
Locate and develop new trim resources to enhance product performance and minimize cost and lead-time.
Attend Design Development meetings to ensure accurate trim development information is communicated and executed throughout development stages.
Drive effective and efficient communication with internal teams and external suppliers to hand-off development.
Contribute in new technique development with vendors to meet design requirements. Source new vendors to align with geographic changes of garment manufacturers.
Introduce innovation with consideration of cost parameters, new ideas and techniques to the design table each season.
Alert management and HK business associates on high-risk areas, which may impact on production and future business.
Maintain tracking charts of Product Development capacity, lead-time, price, OTB dates, submit due dates, etc.
Work proactively to identify any high-risk areas which may impact production and future business.
Lead the team to troubleshoot problems and work with vendors to present solutions to both HK team and management.
Understand, analyze and monitor fit changes which may impact cost, delivery and liability. Reallocate to balance change in demand against capacity and effect on delivery.
Partner with Product Development/Production team on projection change management; evaluate and lead methodology to meet the change.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to streamline work flow process; Create and update SOP in order to achieve corporate goals and business demand.
Ensure product quality meets the defined quality standard, ensure trims are approved on time for production and communicate any delivery delays for management approvals.
Manage Calendar and guide the team to control internal calendar.
Take initiative, lead and support project, communicate status to sponsors and stakeholders.
Establish good relationships with major vendors and business associates around the globe.
Request, receive and validate trim detail sheets from suppliers; Create/update mill card.
Maintain all trim records including specification lead-time and trim pricing.

Skills & Knowledge:
5+ years of experience in Trim Development and Sourcing
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Effective time management and project management skills.
Strong analytical skills
Strong problem solving ability
